Buying used RVs at an RV auction is really beneficial because it can save you a ton of money. In addition, the features and upgrades are usually included. Most repo RVs are still in fairly good condition. However it is still best to check and inspect the vehicle carefully before considering on buying it to be sure it is worth your money.
Exterior. You will know if it was properly maintained if there is no peeling paint or rust on the outside. Remember to ask for the clean title of the unit, getting a clean title will be a lot easier with RV Insurance.
Interior. Water damage may seem minor but damage can be worse and expensive to fix. This includes soft wall paneling, mold, mildew and a ceiling that is starting to sag. Be attentive of the signs that prove the motor home was used as a dwelling place of the owner who had financial difficulties. Check the upholstery if it is already worn or has holes in it. Make sure it has no odors that could be very hard to remove. The generator and high mileage are worth checking too.
Systems. The systems, namely the heater, generator, water, air conditioning and other features should be inspected if they are working properly or not broken and out of place.
Appliances and fixtures. Run the faucet in the sink, the shower in the bath, turn on the lights, inspect the fridge and the oven and flush the toilet. Check all appliances and fixtures that could be broken. If the problem is minor and could be fix in no time and less hassle, that should not worry you. Unless it could cause a problem while on the road.
